Ten tips for a secure password

"The digital security is a complex chain of many elements and the ring is definitely the weakest human being " Antonio Forzieri - Symantec.

digital era in which all access is protected by a password, you should be careful how to choose, without being deceived by haste or laziness:

  1. not use password as trivial for example, a number sequence "123456";
  2. Use least eight characters ;
  3. Use the combination of letters and numbers that possibly do not relate to their lives and are not easily traceable (dates birth, marriage or other events); enter punctuation (if allowed);
  4. not repeat the same character ; try combinations with at least 5 letters and 3 different digits , if possible, alternate letters to lower case, as long as the system is case-sensitive ;
  5. Do not use your name , to a family member or their pets;
  6. Do not use the nickname ;
  7. not use names for something that relates to our personal life: hobbies, favorite sport, fiscal brand or the registration plate property;
  8. not use the same password but maybe to diversify by adding a suffix or a prefix that are mindful of the use (for example. "mobile" to "mobile b" if the password is eBay).
  9. do not leave the package with password or allow someone to guess it as you type;
  10. If possible, change your password often (every three months)

And to make it easy to remember but hard to find?

"A trick may be to use a meaningful sentence, a poem or a song we know by heart, and change some alphabetic characters with those numbers, maybe add a few exclamation points or question marks side. " For
example, you can make the "i" in "1" or "o" in "0".
